A sloe day
I've had a great day. It was my birthday and I had nothing booked, so after a very leisurely breakfast and card (and moth trap) opening, I went for a relaxed walk around the nature reserve. Berries and fruit are amazing this year - this blackthorn bush was laden with sloes. Beyond it you can see part of the steep woodland, owned by the county council, that we've just taken over as an extension to the reserve. Surveying and getting to know this new woodland should keep me quite busy over the next few months.
