Dapperlings
This is the delightful common name given to the Lepiota genus of toadstools. I found a scattering of these in a beech wood today, along with many other fungi starting to push through. I'm not sure I'm quite ready to move from agonising over moth descriptions and illustrations to agonising over a pile of fungus books, but it looks like the next few days may be fungus dominated. I'm already confused about this one! The cap looks like Lepiota hystrix (see extra photo), but the stipe looks more like L. aspera. As the latter species is much more common, I suspect that will be the conclusion
