This was almost ......

..... a blip of a kingfisher.

I was driving past Hatch Mere early this morning when I noticed the pink sky reflected in the water.  Luckily there was a handy lay-by for me to pull into. 

As I was messing around with the camera to try to get the white balance right a kingfisher landed on the post on the left of the picture but immediately flew off again before I could even attempt to get his picture - those birds are FAST!!
