Paradise, arrived at .
24 hours behind schedule we finally arrived at the trusted piece of perfect land that would soon be transformed into a scrappy set-up of yurts, boats, tents + fires to welcome swarms of beautiful people, with grinning cheeks + tangled hair. Dusk was fully setting in, but we could still glimpse at the lake in the deteriorating light - begging us for a plunge, or at least a row. We were deliciously greeted by a bunch of strangers, who quickly became friends. From different parts of France they had voyaged, meaning it was only inevitable that I'd launch straight into my usual defunct attempts of speaking within the vague boundaries of their tongue. We had fire, food, beers and then games in the cozy yurt when the nip set in. Around midnight, it became imperative that we go for a pitch black row. We glugged through the motionless water, that held so much potential for rollicking you could almost smell the anticipation. Gently pushing aside water lilies we embarked on our maiden voyage, sipping on rum like real pirates. The hot yurt began calling Magali + me, so we rowed ashore. The boys were determined to row deep into the night, and we sleepily left them to do. Approximately 30 seconds later, as we were trotting along the wonky bridge we heard a humungous spa:LASH that could only mean one thing; we were going to be sharing the yurt with some soggy boys that night. Inevitable though, that this would be the first of many.
Not long after we turned the dreamy music off, we whispered bon nuit to one another + drifted off into dreamland, surrounded by trees + water + hysterically loud sheep, only to wake sporadically throughout dawn to smile up through the yurt window where swaying branches + fluttering green were smiling down at us patiently waiting for our brains to feed on their endless beauty.
