Nice Weather For Ducks

Thinking positively I went to Fishers Green planning to sit in the Bittern Hide until the rain stopped. It didn't.

A pair of mallards swam into view. He flew off and she went walkabout. She's got a kind look in her eye, almost as if she's smiling at me. :)

I was delighted to see a greater spotted woodpecker climbing the trunk of a willow tree. I got a few shots but they were poor owing to the bad light and because I had the camera set for birds in flight.

The Canada geese were flying. I got one shot of them that when viewed on screen revealed a huge flock of swallows wheeling around. It won't be long before they leave.
