Hokusai at Treshnish
The weather has now set in. I've bought a day ticket for the fishing tomorrow so I'd be happy with it pouring through the night.
We walked down to Haunn Port this morning and saw this flock of Gold Finches on the way. They are settling on knapweed seedheads here.
Later we drove over the moorland road from Dervaig down towards Ulva - which was fantastic. I have a soft spot for Ulva because we went to Ulva Island (Te Wharawhara in Maori) in the far south of New Zealand (see here).
We watched an otter on the far shore and then slowly wended our way back along the coast northwards through magical wooded lanes. We spied Mr Treshnish deep in a fank ( a sheep-pen) sorting sheep with other crofters. The dreich was just starting to blow in.
The Principal has the log burner going and I have scuttled over to the satellite internet point to upBlip. It's glorious (see Treshnish Cottages here).
The extras are from near Haunn Port and at the Ulva Ferry.
