Otiorhynchus

Great name for a large genus of weevils, This one, probably Otiorhynchus sulcatus, was nibbling away at flower petals when I went out to check my moth traps last night. Also known as Vine Weevil, it is a notable pest to gardeners, but I could not bring myself to squish it. I suppose if I found lots in the garden I might have to do something, but until then I consider it adds to the biodiversity.
