The skill of the weaver!

L and I visited The Weaver's Cottage in Kilbarchan this afternoon .... one of The National Trust for Scotland's properties near Glasgow. The restored 18th century cottage recreates the living and working conditions of a typical handloom weaver. L and I both had a shot of pirn winding and weaving on the small, modern handloom.
We spent quite a lot of time watching Christine setting up her loom with the coloured wools ... fascinating. Then L and I went for a coffee, returning back to the cottage to check on Christine's progress - wools in place, in the right order and tied at the ends ..... it was all systems go for the shuttle to begin its journey back and forward.
