Corps de Ballet
Giselle and Fifi practice their ballet moves before joining the rest of the Corps de Ballet. (Fuschia: Swing Time)
In ballet, the corps de ballet [kɔʁ də balɛ] (from French, body of the ballet) is the group of dancers who are not soloists. They are a permanent part of the ballet company and often work as a backdrop for the principal dancers. A corps de ballet works as one, with synchronized movements and corresponding positioning on the stage.
Got the gas furnace it's tuneup before winter sets in. Everything is up to snuff, except Bill wants to get the air ducts cleaned out. I decided, in a moment of insanity, to make home made meatballs. So, I found a recipe that promised these to be light and fluffy. About 3/4th's of the way into the processing of making said light and fluffy meatballs, I wondered if I'd made a mistake in doing this. In theory, I WANT to be a good cook and to enjoy the whole cooking process. In actuality, I am an average cook at best, and a very disorganized cook at worst. The Blue Apron thing I tried, where it's all delivered and ready to go was easier in a way, because all the bits and pieces are all ready and it eliminates some of the drudgery. But, I made it through to the end, and it was, in fact...quite tasty. The recipe is here. And I did ALL the steps, including the gelatin. I'm very proud of myself and Bill and I are going to reek of garlic. Oh well. Extra photo is of the finished product, and the recipe calls for the meatballs to be quite large. Which is why it is quite large.
Thanks for stopping by.
