Mr McGregor's Gate!!

The boys were very happy to see Mr MrGregor's gate from Peter Rabbit on my camera.

Not sure how impressed they would have been with Hill Top though.

It's so much easier walking round these places without having to wonder about what the kids are doing, or if they are bored yet.

Amazing the difference between the dark downstairs and the much brighter rooms upstairs.

Crossed Windermere on the ferry, then up to Hill Top, and on to Hawkshead.

Back to Ambleside to catch up with an old friend an his wife; then off to the Samling for our dinner (at last!).

Very deserving of it's Michelin star, and the last meal of Mrs H's thirties.

I think she approved.
