Time for reflection
I took this picture of my reflection in a window while I was sitting at the bus stop after work this evening.
I started my casual job back in 2009 as it was one of the easier jobs to fit in around my course. I've been back working at one of the first kids clubs I started off in and looking at some of the children it's amazing to see exactly what difference 3 years makes!
Kids are some of my favourite people to work with.
a) They think I'm still in my late teens (not bad when I'm closer to 30 than 20!).
b) it's amazing how quickly they can turn things around when one minute they've fallen flat on their faces in the playground crying, and the next a sticky plaster is put on skinned knees and all is alright in the world again.
And
c) The imaginations they have. This week I've seen kids play school, house and super hero games. I've been asked to join in several of these games and despite an initial reservation about what the heck is going on, I've found myself struggling to get out of imaginary nets and running around playing red river (I can't run but none of the kids made me feel bad about it).
I miss childhood sometimes - your biggest problems tended to be fixed with the simplest solutions.
