Tiny Tuesday 16 - Commemorative Spoon
Still awake despite feeling very tired at about 10pm...what else is there to do but get up and take some photos? The Blip malarkey is a teeny bit obsessional I think!
Yesterday was quite a good day...I heard that a portrait I did of my step-daughter (the one getting married on Friday) when she was pregnant (Arron was born in June) has been accepted by Luminate Scotland to be part of their pop-up exhibition across Scotland in October. I'm so chuffed because it was such a poignant photo of her just about 3 weeks before the wee one was born....I used it as a Blip back in May and only entered it after one of my photo club friends sent an email out asking if anyone had some portraits to submit. The theme was about generations and I thought it was a perfect choice because it depicted two generations at once! I hope to go and see one of the exhibitions as I'd like to see it in situ so to speak.
The other reason that yesterday was good was that I finally had my most successful ever photo on Blip appearing on page 2 of the popular pages....I have been overwhelmed by all the positive comments about my photo of the Cloisters at Gloucester Cathedral...it's so nice to get such positive feedback about an image and it always motivates me to take more photos!
Well this image isn't my most awe-inspiring but I am trying to master my macro lens...slowly getting there...this was just a random silver plated tea spoon that I found in the drawer...it's a Queen's Silver Jubilee commemorative one we got in a mixed lot of stuff at auction....
Oh and I discovered that if I switch my camera to silent mode...the flash doesn't operate!
