Migrant hawker
Another beautiful September morning, and today I managed to get down to the river for a walk after I'd dropped Ben at the bus-stop. Not quite a sunrise, but that'll come soon enough. It warmed up quite quickly and there were plenty of dragonflies still around, mostly migrant hawkers and common darters.
After coffee Pete and I went down to Godmanchester to finish off our fieldwork there - it's getting to that time of year, when the focus shifts from survey to report writing. I'm never sure whether to be sad or glad!
Ben was more cheerful this evening and we celebrated the end of his first week at college with a Thai take-away, though I did stress that this wouldn't happen every Friday!
