Well Pleased!

Look what was waiting in my trap for me this morning! A really beautiful Red underwing moth Catocala nupta.
The Red underwing is a large British species, with a wingspan of 65 -75mm. Although it is supposed to be quite common in the southern half of the UK, this is the first time I have caught one in my garden, although I have caught them in the past in a different location.
I was really very pleased.......now for the Blue underwing!
