Bryan!!!!!!!!!!!
BBC Radio 2's Festival In A Day.
Not all the acts were my cup of tea, but the last 4, The Corrs, Bryan Adams, Giorgio Moroder and Rod Stewart were the best. My friend Helen, who invited me to accompany her, is a HUGE Bryan Adams fan, so I chose this shot ( from the big screen enabling us to see the performers ) of the view from the back of the stage whilst he was playing so's you can get an idea of what 55,000 people looked like to the artists. most of them came out agog at the crowd before them, although not Bryan or Rod, who are probably well seasoned to such numbers.
Leaving Hyde Park and catching a tube out to zone 6, where we'd left the car at Helen's sister's house, was slow but smooth considering the number of people involved, so hats off to the organisers and London Transport for that.
A much needed cuppa and lemon cake that I'd supplied, then we were on the road, homeward bound. I got into bed at 2.30am, setting my alarm for 7am. I was thinking of Helen though, she had to be up again at 5am to take her father-in-law for a hospital appointment!
My extra is Rod, showing how tiny the performers were from where I was standing and how vital the big ( huge! ) screens were for most of us to have any chance of seeing what was happening on stage.
