Malton Stables Open Day
This is a charity event allowing the public access to the various racing stables of Malton and Norton. We were glad to arrive early as the trip to Richard Farhey's stables proved popular with two buses quickly filled.
This is one of the stables top race horses Gabrial being hosed down following a stint on the treadmill. There were 200 horses on view and from a range of owners to spread the risk if an owner pulls out of either ownership or changes stables.
We then visited Jack Berry House which recently opened to cater for injured jockeys but also offers facilities for the local community too. Before this was built there was a long journey to get any rehabilitation facilities. So the hydrotherapy pool, gym, and specialist staff is a God send.
