Late Poppy

In view of the forecast I went out early for a bike ride. As I cycled past an entrance to a harvested field I noticed an unusual display of poppies. The varieties would have graced any garden. The most striking of the lot was this variegated specimen with crumpled petals.

I only had my phone with me rather than a camera so not quite the quality it probably deserved. A rather hot and sticky ride. Back home to deep clean both my road and mountain bike in preparation for this weekend.

Stephen returns to London tomorrow to prepare for starting his pupillage. It has been good to have his company if only for a short while.
