Novel Idea

This is the start of a new library in Milnsbridge.  It's got all the classics of English literature, some great crime thrillers and a selection of hugely-popular children’s books.

It has been created by the local cafe owner across the frontage of the former village library which has been semi-derelict since 1991.

The "books" are actually hand-painted timber offcuts many of them designed by children of local schools.

The graffiti over the front of the building was painted out and so far 180 "books" are on the shelves. The eventual plan is to have between 500 and 600 books.
