Duncs

This is Duncan, who has been coming to EIFF for 20 years. He lives outside London, and also comes up to Edinburgh every month for my film quiz. So, clearly, he's slightly insane. He's a lovely man though, and kindly let me take his portrait when I bumped into him outside Filmhouse this afternoon.

So, the festival kicks off tomorrow, and we had a little warm-up treat this evening - a screening of The French Connection followed by a Q&A with William Friedkin, who also directed the festival opening night film Killer Joe. We'd programmed the film tonight deliberately on the off chance that he'd be up for doing something, and he was absolute delight.
