Pie day

The geeks amongst you will of course spot that it is not the actual Pi Day. But we had a tastier sort of Pie Day. This is the next thing on Anna's list of things she wanted to cook: chicken, ham and leek pie with shortcrust pastry. I could have shown you how delicious it was with a photo of the scraped bottom of the dish afterwards as Carl and I wrestled for the remains. I can't wait to see/taste what she makes next.

And a lovely end to a pretty good Monday. My first real day of sitting down and focusing and having a deadline for a piece of work for really rather a long time. I think the deadline but proved an enormous help in stopping me from wandering around the house distracted by house jobs.

Another good day for J, though he was very tired and didn't make football training tonight. Hopefully a god couple of days rest and he will have energy for the school football trials on Wednesday.

And an early night needed for us as far too much of last night was spent persuading a dog not to bark at foxes. Blinds have been ordered.
