The Lancashire Fusileer

This afternoon we went steam train hunting and tracked this one down near Stirling. You can see the town and castle on the hill beyond the engine.
Number 45407 is a Stanier Class 5 engine built in 1937. She is a 4-6-0 (ten wheeler in US parlance) and was designed as a go anywhere do anything type of engine. Today she was making light work of pulling eight coaches on a Forth Circle tour.
We had brunch with Fiona & James then went off to Culross for a first look at this engine. Home later and Fiona & James were waiting for us and stayed for tea. It was after tea that we went off for this shot.
