Brocken Spectre

I have only experienced this phenomenon once before in half a century of mountain journeys! I had just thought that it was perfect conditions for it, as I was coming up out of the mist into the early morning sun. When I turned round on the summit ridge of La Valerette, there it was, my long shadow and rainbow coloured halo! Three clicks of the camera, the mist shifted and it was gone.
