After a leisurely Full English, we pressed on to Auld Reekie, arriving at lunchtime to find ourselves sucked right into the vortex of middleman's Festival Madness. Actually we had a pretty slow afternoon at the Book Festival, drinking coffee whilst a couple of our girls (mine and his eldest) went to a reading/Q&A/book-signing thing by Darren Shan. Tom had arrived earlier in the week by train so the boys had already done the rounds of spoken word, stand-up, cinema and pub and today was something of a rest day - we tried going out for tea but everywhere was rammed by a combination Festival and Rugby crowd so we decided to eat in instead and book something for tomorrow...
