Dunstanburgh
Off on a trip away to spend a few days with the middleman clan in Edinburgh, we decided to split the journey up with a stopover in Northumberland. It was a very good idea, as it turned out, especially since the Bank Holiday Weekend traffic was a bit much on the A1, particularly to the north of Leeds (Festival traffic, that'd be, judging by some of the outfits in Wetherby Services) and around Newcastle. We were later than intended getting to Craster but still had plenty of time for a stroll out to the Castle and a ginger beer at the Jolly Fisherman and then off to Beadnall, where we were staying (rather confusingly for some of us) at the Craster Arms. We had a pleasant walk around Beadnall Harbour, a nice meal at the Arms and even caught the first few numbers of the Classic Rock covers band that were the later evening's entertainment - I don't think they were called Mullets Ahoy! but it was something along those nautical lines...
