An eventful day!!

An early start as R & the girls stayed over and were out for a run at 5.45. I was up to see them off (a stupid hour of the day to be awake) and when R went off to work at 7am I went back to bed for an hour or so.

The key event for today was joining up with a sewing group to work on the Doddington Hall patchwork quilt. It uses fabrics that are part of the furnishings in the Hall and has been created in conjunction with the recent quilt exhibition.

It was great meeting up with a new group of ladies who have the love of sewing in common. As a result I have been invited to join a sewing group in a neighbouring village, to join a trip to an exhibition in Harrogate in November, told about an Agricultural Fair in a couple of weeks’ time that has lots of crafts and the cheapest way to book tickets to London.

Not bad for a newbie to the area. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming.

Early to bed tonight as I'm off to London for the day tomorrow!!
