Great fun watching the geysir erupting - so sudden and violent, almost as if trying to trick all the onlookers waiting to get a photo or video.
Loved the view from the crags above.
There is a saying, 'If you don't like the weather in Iceland, just wait 5 minutes'. This was certainly true today, as we started our drive round the Golden Circle under clear, still blue skies. Made the views across the valley and tectonic divide at Pingvellir very lovely.
The wind was starting to get up as we walked round the Geysir hotspring area, and by the time we reached Gullfoss waterfall, the weather had come in with driving wind and rain - all the more dramatic to experience the awesome power of nature.
Clear views across the landscape by the time we left to drive back to the apartment.
Then hot tub under the swirling clouds.
Perfect.
