Rejuvenation
Today, our almost cousin and new husband celebrated their wedding. We gladly accepted an invitation to their garden party amongst other friends and family and wish them both the best of happiness together in this new chapter in their lives. We've known the family since we were small children, a friendship fostered through our respective parents and its always a pleasure to see them. The garden was admirably equipped with rain cover, following a week of wet weather and a forecast changing more often than the mind of a small child in a sweet shop. Luckily, the rain stayed away well into the evening when we headed home.
We avoided the motorway on the way home due to heavy traffic, which led us past the 'field' a few miles away. It has become surprisingly overgrown in the two years since our previous visit to clear some of the trees for firewood. The willow and ash coppice stools we'd left to re-grow have done so in good measure, now standing a few metres high.
Our other visits to the field are here
