An unexpected 50 years

After breakfast we had a look around the pottery, from which our bathroom is separated by  a locked wooden door. We will be buying a few things - our host is a good potter, and we like his designs.

Then a walk along the seafront at Milford to the point at which the long spit of Hurst point begins. This blip is a view from nearby,  across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. The jackdaw sitting on this post was making quite a noise for a single bird.

Then to J's Mum's, where J rustled up bangers and mash - her Mum's favourite food. I enjoyed it too.

After lunch the two of us walked across the golf course to the sea-front and walked to Mudeford. En-route, and to our and their surprise, we bumped into Bill and Alison. They are over from London,  staying at a cottage they share with others in Winkton, and with a wider group celebrating 10 years there.

They are both retired, and we haven't seen them in years. In a couple of weeks time (I think) it will be 50 years since I first met Bill, in class 1C of the big school. Now, that is sobering.
