Aisha and me, and Basil
Although overcast, the weather was pleasantly warm this morning, so we had breakfast on the patio.
I had resolved to take Aisha to the summit of Beacon Hill on Charnwood Forest which is the highest point in the East Midlands, from where we could survey the countryside. She was very impressed.
I explained that the rocks had once formed the flank of a massive volcano in Precambrian times.
We prevailed on a couple to take our photos at the top. Basil obliged by standing still on the rocks while they took the shots.
Aisha has returned to London now.
