I've had a rather unpleasant day...........following on from our sort out yesterday we have decided to investigate a few much needed home improvements, so we took ourselves off to the DIY stores to get some ideas. At the third store we visited  we accidentally drove through some white oil-based paint that someone had just dropped in the car park and left.....we didn't realise we had done it at the time because we were too busy looking out for a vacant parking space but we did notice them cleaning up the spillage when we came out of the store, it wasn't until we reached the next store that I noticed on the car's wheel arch and by that time it had sprayed all over the paintwork (see extra photo). Hubby was absolutely livid (even that is an understatement) and I had  white-knuckle ride back to the offending store. The manager came out and took some photos whilst trying to evade any responsibility but because I was making rather a loud fuss in the car park, he did say that we should get a quote for damage repairs and they 'would see what they could do'.........I made him put it in writing but that was the best that I could get :-((((
After arriving home, hubby spent three hours in the pouring rain trying to clean the worst of it off but because it was oil-based paint he had to use brush cleaner and hope that it didn't remove the car's paint as well. We will take the car into the garage next week to get an assessment of the damage...watch this space !!!
