Mermaid queen...

...on Filey beach.

Packed a picnic and set off on a road trip! First stop Filey - because we could... and neither of us had been there before. Good view of Flamborough Head from our lunch spot, before a walk on Filey beach, where we passed this fine lady. Obviously made by a very artistic young sand artist.

Then on to Pickering for a wander round the town and the station. And back across the North York Moors. Fabulous - heather in flower as far as the eye could see. See Extras.

Glorious sunset for our evening walk on the beach near Sands End. Then MrM and I walked into Whitby - we ventured into the Station... as well as the Golden Lion!
