Whimbrel

Oman has a lot of visitors at the moment, in the form of Wetland birds! The rivers are flowing well and it's amazingly lush considering the lack of rainfall. I always get confused between a Curlew and a Whimbrel, although the latter is a member of the Curlew family, the Whimbrel has the shorter beak. I also didn't know you can get a Curlew variation with an even longer beak than normal, it's beak is absolutely huge I'm surprised it can fly!
