Hanging on but crumbling

HH is enjoying our daughter's presence and it's clearly doing him good (me too, as I'm getting more sleep and a chance to catch up with other things). He's still being fed through a tube and is as skinny as hell, but able to talk better and generally improving. Still snoozing quite a lot, but looking better when awake - the hospital staff keep commenting on it.

Today I was reminded why office boys are so prevalent in Brazil. I spent hours traipsing round offices and banks and bumping up against red tape and bureaucracy at every turn. So frustrating!  And I didn't even make any real progress.

On my travels, I came across this little house, crouched between tall apartment blocks, a sad remnant of the Copacabana they called the Little Princess of the Sea. It must once have been a lovely home and looks in quite good nick in the photo, but in real life it's overshadowed, sad, dark and decaying.
