Why did I come in here?

By Bootneck

Desirable residence, open plan, sea view

Much better huge for the detail.

Mrs Booty's birthday today so she was taken out for an airing and lunch. Trelissick is a beautiful country park with a main house that looks out over the Fal Estuary, there are "proper" gardens, a tourist trap or two and wonderful grounds to wander in.
We managed to locate the woodpecker nest we found a couple of weeks ago, the young have departed, it's ready for next year.

There is a beautiful tower with a convoluted circular roof, it looks as if it's French Mediaeval, very much like Carcassonne. On our way back to the car I noticed a brick was missing from the main roof support brickwork. A pair of sparrows have established themselves. Here, left of centre, you can see the adult male and one of the chicks, the female had just flown out. To the right is a small wooden chock, probably oak, which had a pipe running from it at one time, you can see the groove where the pipe was inserted. Further to the right is the present overflow pipe, probably from a water tank. None of this is visible to the masses as they walk head down to their cup of coffee or back to the car for the trip to their next destination and yet another cuppa.

So it's heads up, keep your eyes open and ignore the concerned looks from people who are worried by the presence of a camera in their midst.
