Lily of the Incas

With some great bursts of sunshine today it gave me an opportunity to showcase the Peruvian lilies on the patio (Alstroemeria). They come in many shades of red, orange, purple, green, and white, flecked and striped and streaked with darker colors. It has six curving stamens and the stigma has three lobes which you can just about see in this blip.  I can just imagine them growing in the Andes.
