It was the tradition with some gansey knitters to place the initials of the wearer in the lower left front of the design - so here it is... tough to read but it's there. This had a sad practical function in the past - sometimes the recovered bodies of drowned fisherman would be tough to recognise if they had been in the sea for amy length of time - and their ganseys were useful for identification purposes. Am now just spiralling my way around and around in stocking stitch until the start of the motifs.
