Emphasise the Blues

Maeve the Deerhound was out in her garden this morning although it was cooler and breezier.

Maeve and I went for a walk after lunch. We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. We turned right at Craigmill farm and went down the track to the shore road. We came back along the cycle path and when we tried to go down to the beach at Westhaven via the level crossing we found that the pedestrian gates have been removed and replaced by sections of fence. If that means the gates are gone for good it will stop this handy access to the beach and prevent an easy one way walk along to the fishermen's huts. The sheep are still in the field between the cycle path and the railway line.

We made our way along the cycle path and the pavement to the road bridge over the railway and crossed down to the beach at Westhaven that way, then we went along East Row to the fishermen's huts stopping to have a chat with the man from the end cottage who was washing his car. He was surprised and as dismayed as me to hear about the level crossing closure.

At the huts and boats I had a look round for something interesting for Abstract Thursday. Rather than patterns of decay I found some patterns in fibreglass on an off white upturned dinghy. A little processing to emphasise the blues cast by the shadow of the clouds gave me this result.

We came back over the road bridge over the railway then carried on round in a long loop heading into Carnoustie and up the main road before turning along for home. Maeve wanted out into her garden as soon as we got home.
