Creeking

55 up!

This happened early and although we crept out to blip .. they all disappeared.
So apologies for reflections as it had to be taken through the window .... and many repetitions .. before there were any on the shot!
The visitors were starlings, 55 at this moment and more arriving all the time. The draw was a pond, formed below the fence by the non stop precipitation of the last few days. To the right, just out of view is a small tree which formed the arrival area. When this was totally full and spaces were available some birds moved on to the waiting area on the hedge. Finally the lucky few were able to swoop down into the 'pond' for fun and games and a lengthy wash. (the frolics and splashing can be seen large but sorry it was not a sharp image). As long as they were not disturbed the whole mass continued to follow the circuit, with the wet birds using the tree and fence to sunbathe and dry off before their next turn. Then as suddenly as they came they left and were not seen again.

The dry and sometimes sunny weather allowed us to be in the garden all day catching up on the jobs that had been ignored during the storms.

Happy Father's Day ....
