Wild one

This lovely tree is Betula utilis var. jacquemontii. I grew this from seed given to me by my friend Ron MacBeath when he was at Edinburgh Botanics. Ron collected the seed in NE India and the tree is now 20-something years old.

Birches are my favourite trees and this is one of the best!
