Happy Birthday

I am breaking a golden rule here. I don't blip people. But .......

It's J's birthday, and she is OK with it. 

We arranged to rendezvous at the Quays/Media City after work, for a meal at Damson. And before that a bit of a walk around.

The views from Damson are always fantastic - even on a grey evening (see extra). And the food is always excellent. And good value. We had a very good evening.

Four things to note from this evening's little walk around and viewing from Damson:

* there are quite a few swallows skimming the water at the Quays. I couldn't believe swallows could be breeding here, but I reckon they are , and this evening worked out where. Difficult to describe, so I've added it as an extra - it is not far above the waterline !
* Quite a few people living in the apartments at the Quays have little dogs - apartment scale dogs which they take for walks in the evening. We saw more than one chihuahua, and there are plenty of others.
* The greens space at Media City has been done really well. Kids love the play area, and the grass humps. Plenty of play activity even on a cool, grey evening.
* And I remembered - the stone paving in the foreground which extends over the main Plaza. This came from China. And it came in pallets marked Kroy stone. Never heard of it ? The Chinese write in the opposite direction to us, and had consequently got it wrong. Work it out !
