Oh merde!!
Another beautiful day in Paris!
We started the day by going to Bastille and walking along the Promenade Plantee, an elevated park on an old railway line. It is about 4.7km long and I think we walked over half of it. A joggers paradise but a bit of a pain when trying to enjoy the surroundings and constantly having them weaving in and out.
After a coffee break we went on to visit Pere Lachaise cemetery (a planned visit before I saw Shaamies blip ;-))) We thought 'our' cemetery was large but this is about 4 times bigger. An amazing assortment of graves and mausoleums all packed in higgledy piggeldy. However, going on a day that was 32 degrees, after we had just walked along the viaduct, Mr C still wearing his leg brace most of the time and me......just being unfit! We didn't get to explore the cemetery as much as we hoped. We did see Chopin and Jim Morrisons along with a few others. May have to be another visit ;-)
A little rest at our hotel before venturing to Stade de France. Hmmmm..... Think my title says it all! Not a great game until the last 10 minutes. The French came out strong but by kicking penalties all the time didn't learn anything from their practise match pre World Cup . . . . So I'm told ;-)) great seats, superb atmosphere and well done to the French.
Extras.... Tables set up selling bric a brac outside cemetery, this one had different camera bits and pieces along with one bright red Dr Martin boot and another random shoe! Chopin and another's grave, promenade and stadium. (Not a great day for photos today).
