mulling and mentoring

7am run this morning, this time with a few hills and steps thrown in, just for fun.

Into the office for an hour or so to start the mammoth catch up session and then back out of the office again.

Had a great hours stroll in nescliffe with my friend and mentor. He's a 75 year old ex-vicar and so it's an unusual friendship, but he, more than anyone I know, is able to challenge and stir and encourage me. We just get each other, and can be completely unguarded which is so refreshing. We've been chewing over some difficult questions for about 9 years now - a frustrating and yet helpful process. We then had a lovely lunch together and continued the conversation. What a man.

Then back to the office for planning and trying to think about the new term.

Off to Worcestershire for a few days tomorrow. I miss spending more than 3 days in my bed.
