The 48 hour long day

Well technically today happened twice for me. The first June 7th was in Auckland/Sandspit where I re packed and did all the exciting pre flight stuff. I also got organised and booked my internal flights in the US and Canada. So reasonably productive. Then mid afternoon we travelled the hour ish south to the airport as I head to catch my flight to Rarotonga (cook islands) this is just over the date line so arriving at 1am I started June 7th all over again!

Waking up at Vara' s beach resort wasnt quite what id expected, location is literally next to the beach, room was a large dorm but the weather.....not the crystal clear blue skies I'd been anticipating.

So I took myself for a wonder, before settling down for what I thought would be the duration avec book and ipod. Then some people staying in my room started talking and it would appear the Miss Cook Islands Beauty contest 2012 was taking place in the islands main town this evening, did I want to go? yep!

The evening came and on route to the auditorium I spotted a rugby session being taught, would appear they teach the lateral pass exactly how I coach it at home!

The beauty contest itself was an experience, 8 girls preformed in their beachwear before performing a talent (pretty much all included traditional dancing which required lots at arse shaking and wiggling. Unfortunately as pretty as they all were, when speeches came round they lived up to their stereotype.
