seal

the title of this blip recalls the sign on the fireplaces of 660. (fireplace is sealed --> fireplace is sealed --> a picture of seal the singer --> fireplace is sealed --> a picture of a seal as in the animal)

anyway, i woke up very late, went to the flea market--an interesting place, bought some fish, and biked around the path on the southern shore of reykjavík. ended up at a bar/café called "the bike cave" which looked very welcoming at first, but then upon closer inspection was actually a biker bar, but then upon entering was actually the warmest, homiest place ever. 

tried my hand at making focaccia and failed.

oh, also, i saw a seal today.

other tidbits: iceland has these really high-tech air pumps where you put in the psi you want in your tires and then attach the hose to your tire and it inflates your tire to the exact correct pressure. which is so cool. also my bike has gears. i just couldn't find them. this is not as stupid as it sounds. they're on the body of the bike under the handlebar and i was not expecting them to be there and was confused as to what those weird levers were. anyway my bike is great.
