Cromlix Revisited...
Last August we had the pleasure of staying at Cromlix House for our Silver Wedding Anniversary and loved every second of it. We decided to treat Ele and Kenny to a champagne afternoon tea there as their anniversary gift, and we finally got to enjoy it today (their anniversary is in April and I couldn't get booked till now!)
We met them there and were shown into the sumptuous drawing room to the lovely squishy sofa in the bay window. Lovely. As it was, the men were driving so Ele and I just had to drink all the champagne between us. Such a hardship ;-))
As we experienced last year, the food was delicious and the service superb, very relaxed and friendly. The head waitress who served us welcomed David and I back. They remembered us (once seen never forgotten!!! :-) Now that's impressive!
So we have spent the afternoon stuffing ourselves silly with fancy sandwiches, baby quiche, traditional cake, scones, fancy cakes and patisseries plus tea.
Since the guys weren't having any champagne they were offered non-alcoholic cocktails. They both opted for a Shirley Temple each and will now be forever known as The Two Shirlies :-)))
When we finally managed to prize ourselves off the sofa, we had a wander round and Ele had a look at the tiny chapel then they headed off in their little MG and we headed home the back road to make the most of the sunshine and the scenery. So glad it was a lovely day. Back to rain tomorrow apparently.
After thinking we couldn't eat another bite today, D's just asked what's for tea and made me realise I am actually quite peckish! Dinner it is then!
My extra photo is the little additional dessert the waitress bought when she realised we were celebrating their wedding anniversary :-))
