A slice of Lesley's life

Last evening on the beach

Our visitors left very (very) early this morning so we awoke to a quieter house all ready for us to begin the great pack-up. The weather helped out by being cooler this morning which meant we could get lots of things done at a reasonably productive speed without feeling like we were expiring.

Made good progress so rewarded ourselves with a final play in the pool, leftovers on the terrace and some relaxing reading time. Having cleared the fridge and not wanting to cook or wash up we headed to town for dinner. J wasn't quite up for it so in the end we decided on a last drink on the beach and take-out fish and chips. A nice touch of going home assimilation.

J's down to taking his medication every other day now and we think he struggles a little more on the day after he has taken it. Fortunately there are only two more of those left now and as we reflect on this last month of his recovery and all he has been able to do here, the sunshine, good food and exercise he has had we are feeling more confident of his full return to school in a couple of weeks. Above all else we are really hoping it won't be a feature of his secondary school life.

We asked the kids what they would miss about Spain and what they were most looking forward to back in London: both said the pool and good wifi!

A last evening on the terrace for us and then mine and the pooch's epic journey home begins. I'm filled with a mix of adventure and dread.
