Day 2: Helmsdale - Kirkwall

After an incredible nights sleep and an equally incredible breakfast (the best of the trip!), we had a leisurely drive up the East coast to John O' Groats before catching our ferry over to Orkney. It was a lovely, calm crossing and didn't take long to arrive on the island. We made our way up, stopping at some amazing white sand/clear blue sea beaches along the way. Before we arrived in Kirkwall, we made a trip to the impressive Italian chapel; made by Italian prisoners of war, the painting effect were just amazing. When we arrived in Kirkwall, we had a lovely relaxed evening eating and drinking and enjoying lots of Orkney ales.
