An Artist's Life

By MariB

Reeeeaaallly bad...

No artist could make this color up.....Smoker's Lung Brown. Those of you who have seen this particular spot know there's mountains at the end of the river. So, the Mountain Reclamation Project has been completed...they have been taken away and sold.
Took this shot down by the river at around 5pm. Sun was still high....a red ball. Went home, walked up to my studio...looked up and there was...blue sky??? Whaaaa? Well, a cold front came screaming out of Canada and was pushing the wall of smoke ahead of it. A miracle! Tomorrow will only be in the high 70s (24C) instead of the 90F (32C) we've been experiencing. It will be clear for a couple of days. Plans are afoot!
I do want you to know that Montana is not contributing to this horrid smoke. It's all coming from huge Oregon, Washington and Idaho fires. We put ours out earlier. The only fires we have are north of here in Glacier Park....and they are wee teeny by comparison. There are teams from everywhere coming to fight every fire in the northwest...all states, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Central America, every Indian firefighter from all different tribes, hotshot crews, Mobile kitchens and camps, Red Cross, FEMA, etc. Give a little prayer for all these men & women who put it on the line to save someone's house, barn, animals and wildlife....especially the 14 who have died already. Thank you.
