Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

A quiet day

We had a peaceful evening watching TV, once the dogs had sorted out their snoozing arrangements. First Bailey was on Archie's mat on the sofa, and he was with me on the other sofa. But at one point B decided she wanted to sit with me on my sofa, but that was a step too far for Archie - he yapped and barked at her. That was Not On. Sofas were swapped and all was well.

They slept peacefully all night, apart from a bit of a carry-on after lights out, just like kids. They soon settled down to sleep, but somebody got up at 6:30 and there was lots of scuffling in the hall until we finally appeared.

They had their morning walk - the pair of them walk quite nicely together on the lead, as long as Archie is slightly ahead of Bailey. Then Bailey's mum came to collect her and took them both up The Hill.

A lazy afternoon was called for. Archie has been flat out, snoozing wherever he wants, since Bailey left. A marathon Mad Men session was called for. Here he is enjoying the lovely John Hamm. Or not. He's looking a bit tousled - he hasn't had a wash and brush up for a while (Archie, not JH!). I took the photo on my handy iPod Touch.

We're off out to a show tonight, unless the actor hurts himself between now and 7pm. (The last show we booked one of the chaps injured himself and they had to cancel at the last minute.)
