My dollhouse
It's been a misty grey day today. I can't even see the hills opposite so haven't ventured out. So I thought I would blip my dollhouse. I built it from a kit nearly 20 years ago. It hung on the wall furnished, but not decorated or glazed for several years then when my daughter was studying for her A levels we shared the dining room table for several months, with me working on the dollhouse and she studying. It worked well. We both concentrated on our respective tasks whilst listening to Celine Dion CDs. That was about twelve years ago now! But I'm still always on the lookout for little bits and pieces for the house, in particular a suitable "husband" for the lady of the house (she already has a baby!) But I havent yet found a dollhouse "man" that is as good as the "lady" dolls, so I'll carry on searching.
I'm always making little things for the house as well. I still have to make the curtains. I have a suitable piece of fabric for the lounge curtains which came from a sewing box that I "inherited" from my husband's Great Grandma, which gives the house some family history. I'm also going to scan and print off mini photos of our family ancestors and frame them and put them in the house. So just like a real house, it evolves over the years. I always dress the house for Christmas and the same for Halloween and Easter if I'm in the UK at those times of the year.
